Why I Chose Yes Academy for ACCA

Assalamualaikum..

I had F9 class today, with Oviyan from 9.30AM to 5.30PM. And after 5PM - all my senses shut off 😅😅😅. While my lecturer was still happily talking in front (and the class went off laughing histerically with his jokes) I can only capture the jokes. Not the lesson.

And it was me for blaming. 100%. Not the lecturer please. So just to keeps me awake, I did the only thing we ALL will do. Facebook -ing (or tweeting, or Instagram-ing).

So I did 1 post why I chose to continue my ACCA. And how I made the decision which college to enroll and why. In 3 hours - i received more than 35 FB messages asking about the college and some asked if there is any opening in PETRONAS (No. I am not from HR. I did not hiring anyone. Please log in to PETRONAS website for Career Opportunities). I seldom check my FB Message and my FB Lite has a limit of words. And I feels bad if I cant attend to your queries (been there dude, and still. The frustrations when you need to complete your ACCA - but you have only limited information on lecturers and colleges).

So decided - I have to write here. Here I can write in details the reasons. In my own personal capacity. No payment involved. Please also bear with me, am writing this via my OLD Samsung S4 (while playing Hot Wheels with my sons).

So..why YES?

1. Location - this academy is only a walking distance from my office and accessible with many options for public transports. LRT KLCC, LRT Ampang Park, MRT, Feeder Bus, Taxi, Grab, Uber.  And plenty of parking bays in the building should you plan to drive your own car.

2. Cheap - extremely cheap and the only Tuition Center that allows its students to pay in 3x installments. Do tell if there is any other tuition center who charge their students less than 1K for more than 25 normal classes and 5 days IRC? These excluding hours on Webinars and online sharing of questionnaires and tutorial videos. Based on my research as at 30 June 2017 - none. Only in YES Academy they will provide you this luxury.

3. Quality Learning Materials - I hope I can share the sample of their Learning Materials but it is Copyright to YES. The materials really focus on techniques how to attend the examination and exclude all the grandparents stories - normal case for textbook. So if you are busy (i bet most of us are) - the book is a miracle.

4. Credible Lecturers - well. It should goes without introduction. The lectures - they have had their scores of Prize Winners under their belt. Do check their website. Even without that being publicized, their passing rate is tremendous. And the lecturers are mostly world widely known - and they are the marker too (ehem).

And the last - but the most important for my key decision is -

I never met a Lecturer - who is very passionate, they do go beyond in their teaching. I first met Sivasathish in 2011 for my F8. He was then slimmer (and garang) with an attitude equivalent to any Partner in the Big 4 Audit Firm would posses (read: no one like them. Right? 😉).

But when he teaches, the sincerity surface and surpass all the sakit tangan having to write every single word he wrote on the whiteboard. He gave lectures, he attended to your messages, he answered your midnight queries, and definitely your last minute request for tips. And I remember, his SPOT Questions for F8, 95% really out in the exam. I once accused him of keeping a HANTU. or he himself the HANTU. Now, i resorted to the fact - he is definitely a good GAMBLER. Haha. He is a good man. Seriously. Do check in FB how the students respect him (and like him).

And surprisingly, its not only him. The same attitude I noticed - with most of the Lecturers in YES. I had my F6 with Siva Nair. My F7 with Joe Fang (okay. Gonna repeat this next year. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭). And now my F9 with Oviyan. They all shared the same attitude and passion in teaching. They do treat you like their precious students - and its really left to your effort to study and try to pass the paper. Given the opportunity, I think they will also sit the exam for you. Haha.

Ok. I think I've spelled out all the justifying and reasoning here. Do check their website and Facebook - and do yourself the justice by learning only from the best. At the end of the day, we aim to pass kan..... so lets find the best that could help us to it.

Hasif _ Terima Kasih

Assalamualaikum...

And well, by the look on his face, i believe the kids adore you and really appreciate what you have done to them. One day, this video will be the good reminiscing memories for us.

Thank you Hasif.

Road to 2020 - Karate Haya Syiha

Assalamualaikum....

Setakat ujian kelas, alhamdulillah Iman lepas. Tapi ujian permata, so far memang tahao 1 je lepas. Ha ha. Lain gagal.

Macam hari ni, penuh dengan aktiviti karate dia sorang. Siang 1 hari tournament , malam ni latihan lagi di centre, esok pagi jam 8 AM dah kena standby untuk latihan Black Belt.

Dan ini baru Iman sorang yang sekolah. Harith tahun depan baru nak masuk. Dan di sekolah pun selain pengawas, Iman memang tak banyak masuk aktiviti lain, lately ni baru rajin sket koir la apa. Bab softball ke, netball ke apa ke..memang tak masuk. Kalau masuk, serius la, tak tahu nak bahagi masa macam mana dah.

Belajar, karate, music, berenang.

Itu tak masuk lagi kelas tambahan macam anak2 lain. Atau macam classmate Iman, masuk Equatrian, Pedang , Ragbi. Adeh. Sungguh kesian.

Harith dah cakap nak join ragbi selain karate.

Kesian anak. Kesian mak bapak juga nak chaperon. huhuhuhuh.

Ultimate Indulgence

Assalamualaikum..

While many others parents may opt for a silent weekend, me as always, will be the favorite driver for my kid.

No competition. Mama will always win 😧😧😧. And babah will always happily dozing off again.

This morning, Imani has her-forever-karate-black-belt training. And since this round they gather all kids in melawati, a normal trip of 10 minutes ended up to be 30 minutes. 😵😵😵.

And here we are.. 2 hours more too suffer this `kai kai`.

Mama? I have 1 book - I can stay for hours.

Satu Masa Nanti, Hanya llmu Ini Yang Penting, Moga Anak-Anak Memahami

Assalamualaikum...

Amin.

INFO: Ergonomics Disease

Assalamualaikum..

Noticed lately, lots more of people in my office having this health issue -  relating to PC usage and how they worked in the office.

And in Oil and Gas, HSE literally should be in our bone and blood. It is compulsary to  be attended to and taken care of. So just try to make an effort to dig an info on this, and share with you guys, perhaps come preventive methods can be arranged now.

What is Ergonomics Disease?

It may be referred to as Repetitive Stress Injuries (RSIs), Repetitive Motion Injuries (RMIs), Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTDs), or Cumulative Trauma Injuries (CTIs). OSHA and NIOSH typically use the term MSD or Musculoskeletal Disorder.

Erm... what actually it meant?

Pain in several parts of body due to wrong posture or as simple as sitting down too long.

What should we do?

Have fun!!

School Holiday !!! The Break for Kids (and Us)

Assalamualaikum...

Deepavali !!! And its the additional 4 days leave for the kids. It was routine before to send the kids balik kampung, with maid. But now since we no longer have 1, tutup mata hantar sahaja.

Sebab before cuti pun, she kept reminding us with continuous pictures of food - to temp us. And the grandkids. Nampak tak ayat dah padiapa. Rasa tak best sebab takut menyusahkan 😢😢😢.

The kids ? Confirmla they like it here better. Bigger house..bigger outdoor area for playing...only next to football field..fully aircond..and continuous supply of food. We just reach here for 1 hour..ibu dah siap donut and pizza. Macam mana nak lawan daaaaa...

By the look on their faces - memang tak ingat mak pak la lepas nie *sob sob*

Tak apalah. Hope they are having fun here (for sure) and we also have some space for ourselves.

Ada 14 chapters to go before final. Dan Hasif can settle his pending task. At least for these 4 days.

Itulah. Good luck to you too!!!!

She Was My Boss

Assalamualaikum..

Saja nak cuba, asik2 ambil Uber. Sekali driver dah dipilih, keluar perempuan. Alamak...skeptikal sket dengan driver perempuan, lebih2 lagi hari Jumaat .. selalu banyak kereta. Sebab tahu sendiri bawa macam ntah hape-hape..jadi memang tak confident sangat banding kalau driver lelaki. Tapi..dah waktu sibuk, layan je la. Gambar tengok macam mak datin, nama pun boleh tahan fefeling omputih.

Kereta sampai, masuk dalam, and tara!!!!! It was my old bos.

Surprise? Mestilah.. sebab makcik ni serius tahap gaban kerek, sebab memang dia bijak, grade overseas, double triple degree and master and duduk UK lama sebelum balik Malaysia. Hahahahahaha.

But the tone was different now. Seriously different. And the way she spoke : I respect.

She remembered me.

Dah alang2 jammed, memang dia buat perceritaan semula, tak perlu dipujuk.

Kisah? Dia dah penat. Itu sahaja. Umur dah dekat 50 tahun, dia ada semua, anak, suami, keselesaan hidup. Tapi dia tetap rasa kosong. Rupanya selama ni dia jadi sebahagian the rat race, dia tak ingat ada benda lain lebih penting. Satu hari dia macam kena tampar sendiri, bila anak buat keputusan nak tidur rumah kawan dia, sebab mak kawan dia nak ajar untuk pelajaran Agama Islam untuk periksa akhir tahun. Nak harap mak ayah sendiri tak boleh.

Lama makcik ni emo. Sedih. Anak plak seorang je. Jadi pas pikir dalam2, dia decide untuk lepaskan semua. Jawatan (dan apparently kawan2 yang sejawatan itu). Jadi lepas tak bekerja, dia pastikan ambil hantar anak sekolah, pergi kelas2 agama dan jaga sendiri rumahtangga. Siap berhentikan 2 maid yang ada sebelum ini.

Dan ayat dia:
Gaji saya sekarang memang tak menentu. 10% je dari apa yang saya selalu dapat bertahun2 ni. Tapi kehidupan saya tak rasa kosong. Tak rasa pun kurangnya gaji tu banding lebihnya apa yang diganti sekarang.

Habis tu, kenapa masih bawak Grab?
Sebab kita manusia.

Kerana seorang anak. Sanggupkah diri sendiri nak buat?

Tsk tsk

Back to Mad Days

Assalamualaikum...

I bet the expectations now really take its toll.

I am not complaining..seriously..wishing I could adapt fast and make it routines. Sudden household stuff without maid, 3 growing kids with extra classes for koko, my own classes at nights and weekends and new expectations at work. Just received my letter (yes. Again. The third for 2017) .. and being the only woman in technical field... its HARD. The 100% effort is no longer suffice. Degree and MBA are not a precedent anymore. TOUGH.

And my bestfriend is taking her unpaid leave from works. While the other is nursing her own down-the-river motivation to work.

Lunches are luxury nowadays. Most often than not, my breakfast will hold longer to dinner.

Attire? Well...to support my routines (commuting to and fro work, walking to and fro classes) my new profound love is : kurung and sport shoes.

And this was my attire .. then when I was 19 years old. And its still in now.

So mothers...my hats off to you.

And in case you see me with that outfit : IGNORE. Don't ask why.
