Cover Letter

Assalamualaikum..

My BIL (Brother in Law) received an email asking for an employment at his company. And the email goes like:

Salam Tuan, saya nak mencari kerja kosong di tempat tuan. No telefon saya xxxx. Terima kasih.

Really dude????!!! Seriously they did thought you this at school? Sick.

For my dearest adik-adik (anak2) di luar sana, let me share the basic principle of writing a letter / email / cover note.

1. Always start with a proper salutation.

Dear Sir / Madam,
hope this email reach you well.

2. Indicate source of information.

I am referring to job vacancy 
I was being informed there is a vacancy
Noted on a vacant position

3. Share your intention.

I would like to apply for a position
With your kind consideration, pleased to apply for a ....

4. Describe your background - SIMPLIFIED.

My degree was in.....
I had an experience in...
My skills and expertise are...

5. Provide your contact details.

I can be contacted at ....
My email address....

6. ALWAYS shows your willingnes for further discussion / Sharing of information.

Looking forward for an opportunity of a one-to-one session ...
Should you wish to request for additional information ....

7. End with proper signing off

Thank you in advance for your kindness...
Hope to hear favorable reply from you soon

That's all. Its simple. You don't need to share your grandparents stories but do limit yourself for any hipster lingo. Hello, they dont need your LOL, GTG etc.
